What Has de Minaur Done So Far This Season?

.Alex de Minaur made a solid start to the 2025 season with successive wins at the United Cup before reaching the quarterfinals at the Australian Open to make it six wins on the bounce. Jannik Sinner ended his campaign in straight sets at that stage.

This was followed by a finals appearance at the Rotterdam Open for de Minaur where Carlos Alcaraz defeated him. Following this, de Minaur’s form has tapered off a tad as he’s made the quarterfinals in Doha and fourth round at both, Indian Wells Masters and Miami Masters without going any further.

He kick-started his clay-court season at the Monte-Carlo Masters where he made the semifinals before losing to Lorenzo Musetti. He also lost in the quarterfinals of the Barcelona Open, going down to Carlos Alcaraz.

What Has de Minaur Done in His Career?

Alex de Minaur, also nicknamed Speed Demon which is a wordplay on his name along with his agility on court, made his professional debut in 2015, featured in his maiden Challenger final the following year before making his tour-level debut in the Brisbane International in 2017.

His first ever win in a major came that very year at his home slam in Melbourne and would go on to make it to the final of two ATP events in 2018. In 2019 he won three titles at the ATP level and broke into the top 20 before hitting the quarterfinal spot at the 2020 US Open which remains his best ever showing at the Grand Slam level.

In 2024, de Minaur broke into the top 10 for the first time in his career and made his debut at the ATP Finals that season. That very year he also made it to the quarterfinals at three of the four majors he participated in, missing out at the Australian Open but followed it up with a last-eight appearance at its 2025 edition.

De Minaur has won nine ATP titles including seven in hardcourt competitions and two on grass.
