Taylor Fritz v Alejandro Tabilo Head to Head
Three matches played, three matches won – that is Fritz’s record against Tabilo. These victories came at the 2022 Houston Open and Indian Wells and Wimbledon in 2024.
Fritz Shrugs off Injury Woes against Gigante
Having entered the tournament with an injury cloud over his head, Taylor Fritz began his campaign for his second title win at this competition with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Matteo Gigante.
A 2022 title winner at the Indian Wells Masters, Fritz had issues with his fitness before the start of this tournament and went on to admit was his main concern.
After the match, Fritz said his obliques had been troubling him after the Australian Open and this was the first time in the last month and a half that he managed to finish off the encounter without thinking too much about it.
His solid serving thanks to which Fritz won nearly 90% of his first serves, proved to be the difference between the two players.

Tabilo Finally Wins a Match
A seeded player, Alejandro Tabilo had an opening round bye and in a lot of ways was fortunate to take on Dusan Lajovic in the second.
Now Lajovic has had a good career but more recently he hasn’t been in the best of form in hardcourt competitions and for Tabilo who has done absolutely nothing of note on court, that would have been a great chance to win his first match of the season.
Yes, you heard that right.
In six previous tournaments he’s played this season, Tabilo had won no matches, losing openers at each one of them.
Which is why, a 6-3, 7-5 result against Lajovic would have been such a relief.
Things get tougher now against Fritz but he will enter the court with renewed energy here.
Fritz v Tabilo Predictions
Fritz’s fitness will be under the scanner again but we think he should be able to come through, winning this in straight sets.
