Marketa Vondrousova v Yulia Putintseva Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings between these two players and Vondrousova has won each one of them. The last of those came at the 2022 WTA Dubai.
Vondrousova Sends Raducanu
A lot is always expected out of Emma Raducanu and Marketa Vondrousova played a solid game and romped to a straight-set win over her British opponent in the first round.
In a match that went on for an hour and 36 minutes, Vondrousova clinched a 6-3, 6-4 win. She came back from 1-3 down in the first set to win the next seven games in a row before Raducanu finally won on her serve.
Things went on till 4-3 when Vondrousova broke Raducanu but failed to serve out. She then got the better of her opponent’s serve again to clinch her win.
This is just Vondrousova’s second tournament of the season having earlier taken part in Adelaide where she retired from the second round because of injury.

Putintseva Makes a Solid Start to the Season
Yulia Putintseva is one of the four seeded players in the competition who had a first round bye, having entered the tournament with a 6-3 record for the year.
A loss at the hands of Aryna Sabalenka in Brisbane was on expected lines before Putintseva came back to make the semifinals of the Adelaide International.
There, she defeated Ons Jabeur, Donna Vekic and Diana Shnaider before she was taken down by Jessica Pegula. And in her third tournament, at the Australian Open, Putintseva reached the third round.
That should give her a lot of confidence heading into this encounter but will that be enough against a player who, at her best, has won the Wimbledon title?
Vondrousova v Putintseva Prediction
There’s not much to choose between these two and we can expect a very close match that goes right to the distance. Expecting a three-setter with Putintseva holding a very slight edge.
