Anastasia Potapova v Lucia Bronzetti Head to Head
There have been four previous meetings between these two players and Potapova has won them all. Two of these came in 2024, in Birmingham and Dubai, and Potapova did not lose a set.
Potapova Dispatches Sasnovich
Anastasia Potapova had had a quite steady start to the season but what has been wonderful to watch about her performances in this competition has been her ability to build on them.
A third round appearance at the Brisbane International and another quarterfinal in Linz sandwiched a second round appearance at the Australian Open for Potapova
It could have easily gone the other way, instead Potapova has built on that form to reach the final here.
And she has done that in fine style, winning all her matches in straight sets, with Aliaksandra Sasnovich sent out 6-3, 7-5 in the previous round.
She was on court for an hour and 33 minutes, got the better of her opponent’s serve on four occasions from the 11 chances she got and while she was broken twice, that happened only after she had broken first.

Bronzetti Benefits from Siniakova Retirement
Lucia Bronzetti had made it to finals of three of the WTA competitions she had participated in but never before had she done that in a hardcourt competition.
When she defeated Simona Halep in her opener here, it looked to be par for the course given her opponent’s troubles off the court. However, a shock win over Peyton Stearns in the second round looked to have changed the momentum in favour of Bronzetti.
The confidence had returned following a 2-5 start to the season before this tournament.
She crushed Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the quarterfinals before taking a 4-0 lead against Katerina Siniakova. An injured Siniakova hobbled off the court to leave Bronzetti a winner.
Can she now add to her one singles WTA title?
Potapova v Bronzetti Prediction
Potapova will look to continue her excellent run here and at 1/2 seems to be rightly the favourite to grab this win. Backing her to do that but not before Bronzetti has had a chance to test her out in at least one of the sets.
Potapova v Bronzetti Tips
- Potapova to win: 1/2
