Jelena Ostapenko v Amanda Anisimova Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came in this very tournament held in 2022 and Ostapenko had won that second round match in three sets.
Ostapenko Makes it Five in Five against Swiatek!
That elusive win for Iga Swiatek over Jelena Ostapenko did not come on Friday.
Having gone into the Doha 2025 semifinal with a 4-0 head to head against Swiatek, Ostapenko took that confidence to another level as she thumped the world number two yet again to make the title-decider.
Swiatek looked bereft of ideas as Ostapenko needed an hour and 11 minutes to carve out a 6-3, 6-1 win over her.
While Ostapenko won 69% of her first serve points and a whopping 64% of the second, Swiatek was left far behind in that regard. What was strange to see was her 14 first serve points won from the 29 opportunities she had.
As a result of that, Ostapenko broke Swiatek five times to wrap up the encounter, following on from wins over Aoi Ito, Liudmilla Samsonova, Jasmine Paolini and Ons Jabeur in the previous rounds. All of them came in straight sets.

Anisimova Ends Alexandrova’s Run
Amanda Anisimova would have seen the manner in which Ekaterina Alexandrova had been slaying some of the best women’s tennis players on court. Thanks to that, she had gone in as the second favourite in the encounter but did she give Alexandrova a taste of her own medicine.
In a match that went on for an hour and a half, Anisimova booked a place in the final – her first since the Canadian Open last year – with a 6-3, 6-3 win.
The only piece of resistance that Anisimova felt was probably late in the first set when Alexandrova came back from 0-4 down to bring it to 3-4.
Anisimova held on to her serve every single time after that and broke her Russian opponent in the fourth game of the second to claim her place to fight for the title.
With wins over Paula Badosa and Marta Kostyuk already under her belt, Anisimova would believe she has a decent shot at winning her maiden WTA1000 title.
Ostapenko v Anisimova Prediction
Ostapenko is a very tough opponent to beat in full flow and that’s what she has been in this competition. Make no mistake, Anisimova has been no less and does level things up a little but the Latvian number one’s experience should help her no end here.
Ostapenko v Anisimova Tips
