Stefanos Tsitsipas v Tallon Griekspoor Head to Head
These two have faced off twice before this, at the 2023 Australian Open and the 2025 Rotterdam Open and both were won by Tsitsipas.
Tsitsipas Quells the Berrettini Challenge
Before coming into this tournament, Stefanos Tsitsipas had won just three matches all season.
In this competition he has doubled his win count for the year by getting the semifinal with his latest victory coming in a thrilling three-set encounter against Matteo Berrettini.
In a match that went on for two hours, Tsitsipas lost his serve more times than Berrettini but he still somehow managed to find a way to get through. He won 7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-4
This follows a relatively straightforward victory in the first round against Lorenzo Sonego before he needed three more sets against Karen Khachanov to win his round of 16 encounter.
Tsitsipas now has a brilliant chance to make it to his first final in an ATP event since the Barcelona Open last April.

Griekspoor Stuns Medvedev
While Daniil Medvedev wasn’t quite having the season of his life-time, he sure was inching up towards his best when he made the quarterfinals of this tournament. And facing Tallon Griekspoor at this stage of the competition should have given Medvedev a chance to advance quickly enough to the next stage.
That’s what it looked like when Medvedev won the first set of their match but even more so when the Russian took an early, 3-1 lead in the second.
Griekspoor not only broke back but also saved two match-points on his own serve in the 10th game, another couple in the 12th before frittering away two set-points on his way to winning the set.
He managed to hold every single time in the final set, dropping just seven points on serve but at the most crucial juncture of the encounter when Medvedev serve to stay in it, Griekspoor clinched it off the fourth chance he got.
This was Griekspoor’s third successive comeback from behind win of the tournament, having earlier beaten Roman Safiullin and Ugo Humbert too.
