Kasatkina v Kenin Head to Head
There have been five matches played between these two and Kenin leads 3-2. All these matches were played as a part of hardcourt competitions.
Kenin won at the 2018 Miami Open and 2019 WTA Dubai before Kasatkina levelled things out in 2022 in Sydney and the 2023 US Open. They met again in Tokyo last year where Kenin won their quarterfinal in straight sets.
Kasatkina Hoping to Emulate 2024 Showing Here
Daria Kasatkina had made the fourth round in this tournament last year and her most basic goal here would be a repeat showing of that.
She has a tricky draw this time with Sofia Kenin as her second round opponent with a potential to face Liudmilla Samsonova in the third.
Kasatkina, however, has shown a decent rhythm to the proceedings having won eight of the 14 matches she has played this season.
While the Russian did lose her opener at the WTA Dubai to Sorana Cirstea, she had made the fourth round of the Australian Open and the third round in Doha. Cometh the big tournaments, cometh Kasatkina, who has been consistent at winning the early rounds in them.

Kenin Has No Troubles against Inglis
Coming off a quarterfinal appearance in Dubai, Sofia Kenin looked to rolled that form over to the Indian Wells Open this year as she crushed Australia’s Maddison Inglis in the first round here.
In a match that barely lasted an hour, Kenin defeated Inglis 6-2, 6-1 to reach the second round – her joint-best record at this tournament over seven seasons of featuring in it.
Kenin faced just one break-point in the entire match and saved it easily, even as she broke her opponent’s serve on five occasions.
That made it her 11th win of the season to go with just six losses and that sterling record is reflecting in her rankings with Kenin having risen from 81st at the start of the season to 47th right now.
Can Kenin make it to the third round here for the first time in her career?
Kasatkina v Kenin Predictions
Nothing to choose between these two with both going in as 10/11 favourites here. We can expect a keen tussle that could see a third set.
