Stefanos Tsitsipas v Matteo Berrettini Head to Head
This will be the repeat of the 2025 ATP Dubai match where they faced off in the quarterfinals and Tsitsipas won in three sets. That was Tsitsipas’ fifth win over Berrettini who has beaten his Greek opponent just once before.
Tsitsipas Eases Past Seyboth Wild
Stefanos Tsitsipas had entered this tournament on the back of a title win in Dubai, a victory that had seen him jump back into the top 10 of the rankings.
And continuing with his excellent form, Tsitsipas made it his sixth win in a row when he routed Thiago Seyboth Wild in his second round match here, following an opening bye.
In a match lasting an hour and 28 minutes, Tsitsipas won 6-2, 6-4 to enter the third round at the Indian Wells Masters for the second season in a row. Last year, Tsitsipas had reached the fourth round at this tournament.
Tsitsipas, who was 3-4 on win-loss for the season before his tournament win in Dubai, faced two break-points in the match and saved them both. He broke the clay-court specialist on three occasions to seal his spot in the next stage.

Berrettini Does Not Face Any Resistance from O’Connell
Matteo Berrettini was on court for over an hour and a half but managed to come through in straight sets in his second round win over Christopher O’Connell.
In a serving masterclass, Berrettini faced just one break-point in the entire match and saved it while getting the better of his opponent’s serve on two occasions. What was interesting to see was that Berrettini won 74% of his second serve points which was more than what O’Connell won off his first serve.
O’Connell took him to a tie-breaker in the second but Berrettini swatted his opponent away in it, winning it 6-2, 7-6 (2) to notch up his sixth win of the season.
Berrettini has also lost five matches to go with that but in those six victories there has been one over Novak Djokovic and a quarterfinal appearance at both, Doha and Dubai.
Can he find a way to turn his poor head to head record against Tsitsipas around?
Tsitsipas v Berrettini Predictions
We don’t see how Berrettini can overcome the odds and Tsitsipas here given his opponent’s form and their head to head record. Expecting a Tsitsipas win that might come quicker than expected.
Tsitsipas v Berrettini Tips
- Tsitsipas to win: 4/6
- Tsitsipas to win in straight sets: 2/1
