Iga Swiatek v Dayana Yastremska Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two and both have won one apiece. Yastremska had won in 2019 in the Billie Jean King Cup but their second match came as recently as earlier this year in Dubai where Swiatek clinched a place in the quarterfinal with a straight-set win.
Swiatek Shows No Mercy on Garcia
Iga Swiatek had a first round bye like all other seeded players and took all of 63 minutes to demolish Carolina in her second round match.
In a match that began with the two players trade breaks of serve in the first two games of the encounter, Swiatek won 11 of the next 12 games to grab a place in the third round 6-2, 6-0.
This follows an excellent streak of form throughout the season for Swiatek but one that hasn’t really been translated into a title win.
And Swiatek will like to change that here, as she looks to shrug off her losses in the final of the United Cup, semifinal of the Australian Open and another semifinal in Doha.
More recently she had also lost to Mirra Andreeva in the WTA Dubai.

Yastremska Routs Jabeur
Dayana Yastremska had never made the third round of the Indian Wells Open before this and when she took to court for her second round match against Ons Jabeur, it looked like she had very little chance.
At least that’s what the bookmakers thought, pegging Yastremska at 13/10 to surprise the Tunisian number one.
Yastremska was having none of that though.
Having earlier dropped a mere six games on her way to defeating Yue Yuan in the first round, Yastremska was even more clinical in her second round win which saw her grab a 6-3, 6-1 result.
The match lasted an hour and 11 minutes only and saw Yastremska come back from a break down in the first set to claim the win. That was her 12th of the season to go with a mere six losses.
