Ben Shelton had a first round bye and he did not take too much time winning his second round encounter either, defeating Mariano Navone.

Khachanov Overturns Slow Start against Mensik
Karen Khachanov had not had the most prolific of starts to the season, having won just three of his first seven matches in the year.
Which is why when he came up against Jakub Mensik in the second round and lost the first set, there were enough doubts about his ability to turn things around.
That’s exactly the former Indian Wells Open quarterfinalist did though, defeating Mensik 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 and entering round three.
Following the loss of the first set, Khachanov blanked his opponent with three breaks in the second. In the decider, he grabbed an early break and while Mensik broke back, a second successive break in the fourth game was all that he needed to get past his opponent.
Things could get a lot more challenging here though.
