The main draw action at the Miami Open 2025 kick-starts from Tuesday, March 18 with its women’s first round matches. The remaining men’s qualifiers will also be held today and below is the Miami Open order of play for the day.
Action at the centre court, or the Grandstand as it’s called will begin at 11 am local time and will see USA’s Alycia Parks take on Varvara Gracheva in the first match of the day.
This will be followed by Naomi Osaka beginning her campaign as she hopes for a better showing than the first round loss she suffered at the Indian Wells Open two weeks ago. Osaka faces Yulia Starodubtseva.
Petra Kvitova and Sofia Kenin will face off in what could be one of the matches of the day next before local girl Ashlyn Krueger takes on Renata Zarazua in the final match at Grandstand.
Over at the Butch Buchholz Court, four American women’s players will be in action. Caty McNally faces Viktoriya Tomova, Lauren Davis takes on Japanese qualifier Aoi Ito and Americans Taylor Townsend and Ann Li will clash for a place in the second round.
Also playing will be Sorana Cirstea who takes on Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
Some of the other women’s first round matches today include Magda Linette facing Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Claire Lu taking on the returning Linda Fruhvirtova, Olga Danilovic going up against Hailey Baptiste and Rebecca Sramkova and Polina Kudermetova also in their respective first round matches.
