Often touted as the Ryder Cup of tennis, the Laver Cup is one of the tennis team events on the men’s circuit which is fought between Team Europe and Team World. A brainchild of Roger Federer and his management team in conjunction with a few others, the Laver Cup has become one of the most watched events and if you are looking to buy its tickets, here’s where we explain how to do just that.
Played on indoor hardcourts, the Laver Cup was first hosted in 2017 and has been held each year after that with the exception of 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic was at its peak.
It has been held at a different venue each year.
The tournament sees players from Europe fight it out for top honours against a team from the rest of the world, called the Team World. Both teams have about six players representing them and six singles and three doubles matches are played each day.
It is hosted over three days with wins on the first day one being worth one point, two points for a victory on day two while on the third day a win is worth three points.
