All the remaining second round matches at the WTA Charleston Open will be played on Wednesday, April 2 as Jessica Pegula, Qinwen Zheng and Emma Navarro take to court. Here’s the day’s schedule for this second day of the Charleston Open.
Action at the Credit One Stadium kick-starts with the now-Aussie citizen Daria Kasatkina who takes on Lauren Davis before the fourth seeded Emma Navarro faces fellow American Hailey Baptiste for a place in the third round.
The third match of the day at that centre court will see the top seeded Jessica Pegula take to court as she faces Irya Shymanovich in their second round encounter. This will be followed by Qinwen Zheng who takes on Maria Sakkari before the match between Elise Mertens and Varvara Gracheva rounds things off.
Over at the Althea Gibson court, Anna Kalinskaya will hope she can find some of her form back when she faces Caty McNally before Ekaterina Alexandrova takes on Ann Li. In what could be an interesting match, Belinda Bencic takes on Sofia Kenin before Americans Ashlyn Krueger and Katie Volynets face off for a place in the third.
Court 3 action has Diana Shnaider, Jelena Ostapenko, Yulia Putintseva and Peyton Stearns take to court for their respective second round matches.
