ATP Marrakech 2025 Semifinals Predictions for Saturday, April 5 Feat. Griekspoor v Majchrzak & Darderi v Carballes Baena

The quarterfinals at the 2025 Marrkaech Open will be played on Friday, April 4 as Tallon Griekspoor, Alexandre Muller and Nuno Borges take to court today. Get the best predictions and tips for the day from ATP Marrkaech Open 2025.

Tallon Griekspoor v Kamil Majchrzak

This will be the first meeting between the top seeded and world number 37 Tallon Griekspoor and the 122nd-ranked Kamil Majchrzak.

A quarterfinalist the last time he played in this tournament, Griekspoor has already gone one better with a straight-set win over Mattia Bellucci in his previous match. He came through 6-3, 6-4 to seal off his semifinal berth after having earned an opening round bye and defeating Pablo Carreno Busta in the second.

That win also took Griekspoor’s record for the season to 13-6 with the Dutchman showing the kind of tennis that had taken him to a career-best ranking of 21st some time ago. He now faces the Polish qualifier Majchrzak who has been on a surprise mission.

While his wins in the qualifiers, winning both in straight sets, was on expected lines, what’s followed has been anything but expected. Majchrzak defeated Jaume Munar in the first round, overcame Jesper de Jong and most vitally shocked Alexandre Muller in his quarterfinal match.

Making these results even more stunning is the fact that Majchrzak won all these matches without dropping a set. He could put up a strong showing against Griekspoor too and we can expect this to go the distance as a result.

Griekspoor v Majchrzak Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/5

Luciano Darderi v Roberto Carballes Baena

It’s a match between two players ranked in their 50s but between two players who have met twice before this on the Challenger circuit with Roberto Carballes Baena winning both times. Both those matches came on clay, played in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

Darderi has had three fairly straightforward results going his way against players who have been ranked lower than him. He was a favourite going into each of them and much like that he starts off an 8/11 favourite against Carballes Baena as well.

Carballes Baena, however, is made of sterner mettle than most of those others in this draw. More so on clay. And the Spaniard knows that if he can go all the way in this competition, even win the title, he could well break into the top 50 and end the week at his career-best ranking.

That is a possibility too given how well Carballes Baena has done in this competition so far, winning against Taha Baadi, Otto Virtanen and Nuno Borges in straight sets.

At 1/1 odds to win, that is a tempting option to go with.

Darderi v Carballes Baena Tip: Carballes Baena to win: 1/1
