Laver Cup Betting Tips, Picks, Predictions & Odds for the 2025 Edition

Get all the free Laver Cup betting tips, predictions and picks along with their latest odds for the 2024 edition of the tournament, a men’s hardcourt competition played as one of the men’s team events on the tennis calendar.

Laver Cup started off in 2017 as a team event that has an official place on the ATP calendar but at the same time, doesn’t award players any points to participate in. Often called the Ryder Cup version of tennis, it pits two teams, World and Europe against each other.

The teams are selected over the year leading up to the start of the Laver Cup with the players handsomely remunerated for their participation.

Unlike other men’s singles tournaments, the Laver Cup’s third set follows the first-to-10-points format.

As a team event, players are coached from the sidelines with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic having taken turns to do that to each other in one of the editions of the tournament! Now that was a beautiful sight or what.

Laver Cup is named after Aussie tennis great Rod Laver and organised by Roger Federer’s management company, TEAM8, who joined hands with Jorge Paulo Lemann, and Tennis Australia to establish this tournament. Lemann has played tennis at the highest level earlier and is currently a businessman in Brazil.

Laver Cup 2025 Tournament Preview

We will update this section closer to the start of this competition. In the meantime, here’s the preview to the 2024 edition of Laver Cup.

Played on the indoor hardcourts of the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany for the first time, the 2024 Laver Cup will see the Team Europe starting off favourites after calling on some of the top players in the world.

With Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev in their line-up and with Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud and Grigor Dimitrov also becoming a part, it is difficult to see what the McEnroe brothers, John and Patrick, can do with the Team World.

Because an already fledgling Team World side will be without Alex de Minaur and Tommy Paul, both of whom have withdrawn from the competition.

Laver Cup 2025 Format

Like all the previous seasons of Laver Cup, even this year’s competition will see players fight for 1 point on day one, 2 points on day two and 3 points on the third day.

There are four matches played on each of the three days with 24 points up for grabs. The team reaching 13 points first wins the tournament.

There are three singles and a doubles match played on each of the three days.

Technically, since a team can get to 13 points off the ninth match of the tie, the tournament can be called off without the final three matches played on the third day.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the Laver Cup?

At the end of the first day’s play the scoreline was tied at 2-2, while Team World ran off to a 8-4 lead by the end of the second day’s play. On the final day, the two teams shared the first two matches before Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz won their respective singles matches to grab the win.

Here’re the two squads from 2024:

  • Team Europe: Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Grigor Dimitrov, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud, Bjorn Borg (captain), Thoma Enquist (vice-captain)

What Happened in the 2023 Edition of the Laver Cup?

For the second time in a row, Team World triumphed in the Laver Cup as they crushed Team Europe 13-2 in one of the most one-sided match-ups of all times in this competition.

With Rafael Nadal struggling with fitness woes, Roger Federer having retired and Novak Djokovic unavailable, the responsibility of the Team Europe’s chances lay square on Andrey Rublev and Casper Ruud’s shoulders.

However, with Taylor Fritz leading the way for Team World, it was never going to be easy. And that came to head on the first day of the tournament itself.

Ben Shelton, Francisco Cerundolo and Felix Auger-Aliassime won their respective singles matches to give Team World a 3-0 lead before Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe combined to make it a clean sweep.

Team World were soon 6-0 up with an early singles win on day two through Fritz and while Casper Ruud pulled one back for Team Europe, that would turn out to be their only victory of the tournament.

The tie was wrapped up with the opening doubles win on day three as Shelton and Fritz trumped Hurkacz and Rublev in two tie-breakers.

Here’re the two squads from 2023:

  • Team Europe: Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud, Hubert Hurkacz, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Gael Monfils, Arthur Fils, Bjorn Borg (captain), Thoma Enquist (vice-captain)
  • Team World: Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, Tommy Paul, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Ben Shelton, Francisco Cerundolo, Christopher Eubanks, Milos Raonic, John McEnroe (captain), Patrick McEnroe (vice-captain)
