Get all the free ATP Shanghai Masters betting tips, predictions and picks along with their latest odds for the 2025 edition of the tournament, a men’s hardcourt competition played in the Asian tennis swing.
One of the nine Masters 1000 tournaments played on the men’s circuit, the Shanghai Masters is the penultimate such competition played in the tennis season, also the only competition outside of America or Europe.
Played for the first time in 2009, it has been held every year except for the three between 2020 and 2022 when tennis was suspended because of the pandemic. It then returned on 2023.
Typically the Shanghai Masters was played over an eight-day period but starting from 2024, this competition was hosted in a way not too different from the Indian Wells or Miami Masters, i.e. held over two weeks. It will have a 96-man strong draw.
Having hosted the Tennis Masters Cup, a year-ending men’s competition, the ATP introduced the Shanghai Masters as their means to continue making effort to promote the sport in China.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the ATP Shanghai Masters?
Jannik Sinner found himself an extra gear as he routed Novak Djokovic in the final to lift the title, his fourth ATP 1000 Masters tournament win of his career. The top seeded entering this tournament, defeated Djokovic 7-6 (4), 6-3 to grab the tournament win.
Such was Sinner’s form that other than losing a set in a tie-breaker to Tomas Martin Etcheverry, he did not drop a set in the entire competition. This included wins over Ben Shelton and Daniil Medvedev as well, with Sinner cruising to a 6-1, 6-4 victory over the latter.
Earlier, Carlos Alcaraz fell in the quarterfinal stage losing to Tomas Machac who was then beaten by Sinner in the semifinal.
What Happened in the 2023 Edition of the ATP Shanghai Masters?
In a stunning final that saw Hubert Hurkacz save a match-point, the Polish number one clinched the second Masters 1000 tournament win of his career.
Seeded 16th in the tournament, Hurkacz edged out the fifth seeded Andrey Rublev 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (8) in the final to win the title. In a tournament in which none of the top 15 seeds bar Rublev made the quarterfinal, it was the tenacity of Hurkacz that shone through.
Rublev, who had entered the final on the back of winning all his matches in straight sets, lost his first set in the final but came back to level the encounter. In a see-sawing final set, Hurkacz managed to edge the Russian out.
With Novak Djokovic having opted out of the competition, Carlos Alcaraz was the top seed but he fell in the fourth round of the tournament to Grigor Dimitrov. Second seeded Daniil Medvedev fell in the third round to Sebastian Korda, while Holger Rune, the third seed was ousted in the second round.
