Swiatek, who had come through in straight sets against Katerina Siniakova in the first round, will now face former US Open winner Emma Raducanu in the third round.
Raducanu to Make Third Round Debut
Emma Raducanu is on her fourth trip to Melbourne and had never made it to the third round here. That’s before she stunned Amanda Anisimova in the second round here on Thursday.
In a match that went all the way to an hour and 50 minutes, Raducanu continued to struggles with her serving woes like she had in the first round but still managed a way to find a victory.
The Brit was broken five times in the match but got the better of Anisimova’s serve on a whopping eight occasions to clinch the match.
