Elena Rybakina v Madison Keys Head to Head
Their four previous meetings have led to Keys winning the first two and Rybakina levelling it up at 2-2 by grabbing the last two matches.
While Keys’ wins have come at the 2022 French Open and Cincinnati Open, Rybakina bagged her victories in Ostrava and Miami.
Rybakina Quells Yastremska But Injury Concerns
Elena Rybakina had dropped just five games in total over the first two rounds of the 2025 Australian Open and with that kind of a start she was an overwhelming favourite come into her encounter against Dayana Yastremska.
And while she lived up to the overwhelming 1/10 favourites odds by beating Yastremska 6-3, 6-4 at the John Cain Arena, there are bigger fish to fry for the Kazakh.
Her back’s fitness hasn’t been the best and even in her third round match, Rybakina was forced to ask for a medical timeout only a few minutes into the encounter.
And while she changed her tactic to try and reduce the rally length, she admitted she was still struggling with it at the post-match conference.
The big question now is if she is fit enough to take to court for the fourth round.
Keys Too Good for Collins
Madison Keys had gone into her all-American third round clash with Danielle Collins as a 9/25 favourite and she lived up to those expectations by clinching the win in straight sets.
Collins, who had been booed all match during her third round victory over Destanee Aiava, had her share of jeers again but in the end, all of that wouldn’t have mattered too much given the kind of form that Keys was in.
Entering the encounter on the back of a 9-1 win-loss record for the season which included a title win at the Adelaide International where she had also beaten Jessica Pegula, Keys broke Collins in the very first game of the match.
She saved the only break-point she faced before wrapping up the set before coming back from being 0-3 down in the second set to win 6-4, 6-4.
Keys has a good chance to come close to matching her 2022 Australian Open performance where she had made the semis.
Rybakina v Keys Prediction
While Rybakina is a 4/6 favourite here, we think Keys holds the edge given her form and the fitness concerns that her opponent has. Backing Keys to come through.
