Karolina Muchova v Sara Sorribes Tormo Head to Head
They had first faced off on the ITF circuit way back in 2016 before meeting again in the first round of the US Open in 2021. Sorribes Tormo won both those matches.
Muchova Coming off Early Australian Open Loss
Karolina Muchova been a top-10 player in the past, having ended the 2023 season ranked eighth in the world. Unfortunately for her, she missed the first half of the 2024 season because of injury but her return to the circuit was quite solid.
She made the final of the Palermo Open, then entered the semifinal at the US Open and was a finalist at the China Open as well to end the season ranked 22 in the world.
And now with no points to defend in the first half of the 2025 season, Muchova has improved to 18th following her 2-2 record in the United Cup – which helped her country make the semifinal – and a second round appearance at the Australian Open.
Having gone into that second round match against Naomi Osaka as an overwhelming favourite, Muchova was beaten in three but there’s enough evidence to suggest she is slowly moving towards her best again.

Sorribes Tormo Sets Sun’s Campaign
Lulu Sun had a brilliant previous season but has started off poorly in 2025. And Sara Sorribes Tormo ensured her season wasn’t getting any better when she ended her campaign in the competition in straight sets.
Sorribes Tormo won 6-3, 6-3 in an hour and 36 minutes in which she faced just two break-points – losing her serve once. In turn, she got the better of Sun’s serve on four occasions from the 12 opportunities she got.
Having earlier failed to qualify for both, the Brisbane International and Australian Open as she fell in the second qualifying rounds there, Sorribes Tormo overcame Tamara Korpatsch and Suzan Lamens here to enter the main draw.
She now has a tough ask of her to get past a former top-10 player.
Muchova v Sorribes Tormo Prediction
Muchova is a huge favourite here at 1/10 and there’s no doubting who the favourite for us is too. We would avoid going for those odds though, instead the games market is a better way to play this.
