Linette v Zarazua Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the 2022 Tampico Open and Linette had won that encounter.
Linette Needs to Start Winning
Magda Linette had been giving her opponents a run for their money in the 2022-23 period with the Polish player hitting a career-best ranking of 19th in the world as a result of that.
Over the last year and a half, she won a tournament in Prague too but other than her form has slowly deteriorated. Enough for her to fall to 38th on the WTA charts.
That form loss has continued in 2025.
It started with a straight-set loss to McCartney Kessler in the first round of the Brisbane International, and continued at the Hobart International and Australian Open in which she won just one match.
The defeats came to Maya Joint and Moyuka Uchijima.

Zarazua Makes it Through the Qualifiers Easily
While Renata Zarazua would think she should have done better than her first round loss at the Linz Open, a tournament in which she fell to Hailey Baptiste, it looks like she has gone back to her steady ways.
Featuring in the qualifiers here, Zarazua defeated Ysaline Bonaventure Zeynap Sonmez without dropping a set to make it to the main draw.
This follows a second round appearance at each of the previous three tournaments that Zarazua has played this year other than in Linz. She defeated Viktoriya Tomova in Brisbane, Lucia Bronzetti in Adelaide and then won against Taylor Townsend at the Australian Open.
Can she surprise a player who is way higher ranked than her but in the kind of form that could allow her a good chance here?
Linette v Zarazua Prediction
Not much to choose between the two as far as their winning odds go but Zarazua’s form tips the scales in her favour for us despite the difference in their rankings. Backing her to edge past Linette.
