Bronzetti Sends Favourite Stearns Packing
Peyton Stearns was a 3/5 favourite going into her second round match against Lucia Bronzetti but failed to rise to some excellent display of tennis by her opponent.
Bronzetti slammed three aces, broke Stearns twice and did not face a single break-point in the first set as she romped to a 6-2 win in a mere 29 minutes.
She then broke again in the first game of the second set and while she missed a chance to go 5-3 up and then again failed to serve it out at 5-4, Bronzetti clinched it off her first match-point in the tie-breaker.
