Jan-Lennard Struff v Manuel Guinard Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came on the Challenger circuit in 2023 with Struff winning it easily.
Struff on a Three-Match Losing Streak
Jan-Lennard Struff is in a desperate need of a win after having hit a losing streak that has already extended to three matches.
It began in Auckland where he had won his opener against Y Bu but then Gael Monfils got the better of him in the second round.
He was unlucky to pick out Felix Auger-Aliassime in his first round at the Australian Open and while he put up some resistance, his opponent proved to be too good for him.
And in the Rotterdam opener last week, Struff showed fight yet again but lost a third set tie-breaker to Fabian Marozsan.
Struff has a better chance now given that he is up against a player outside the top 250 and who has only qualified because of a withdrawal. He starts off a 1/5 favourite here.

Guinard Makes it Through as a Lucky Loser
At the end of the 2022 season Manuel Guinnard had climbed up to the top 150 on the ATP charts but he has slowly fallen away in the rankings and is currently not even in the top 250.
And while he has already registered a shock win in the season when he sent Roman Safiullin packing from the Auckland Open, it has been the case of one swallow not making a summer for him,
Because other than that, Guinard has barely done anything of note.
Even there he had made it through as a lucky loser following a defeat to Yannick Hanfmann in the qualifiers and following that, Guinard went down to Mika Brunold and Jakub Paul in successive Challenger events.
A three-set loss to the 180th-ranked Pierre Hugues-Herbert in the qualifiers here added more salt to the wounds but for now he would be thanking his stars he has another opportunity to add to his wins count thanks to his status as a lucky loser.
Struff v Guinard Prediction
This looks to be a fairly straightforward one for Struff whose own struggles will make him alive for the occasion as he looks to ease through to a win.
