Ekaterina Alexandrova v Amanda Anisimova Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between them and both have won one apiece. Anisimova won in Doha in 2020 while Alexandrova clinched a victory in Madrid in 2022.
Alexandrova in a Comeback Win over Pegula
Ekaterina Alexandrova had already defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the tournament. She went on to crush Elise Mertens after that.
And the latest player who lay vanquished at the racquet of Alexandrova was Jessica Pegula, who got knocked out in the quarterfinal.
In a match lasting an hour and 43 minutes, Alexandrova shrugged off the loss of the first set to Pegula before coming back to clinch a three-set victory. She won 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 to make the semifinals.
What this win does is to take her winning streak up to eight in a row following her title win at the Linz Open two weeks ago. Can she now add another victory and make it to her first ever WTA 1000 final?

Anisimova Edges Out Kostyuk
Before Amanda Anisimova took to court to face Marta Kostyuk in the quarterfinals, she had already gotten past Victoria Azarenka, Paula Badosa and Leylah Fernandez, all of whom had been beaten in straight sets.
Which is why when Anisimova dropped the opening set to Kostyuk it was the first set she had lost in the tournament and things were looking bleak for the American.
That’s till she turned things around with some fighting performance.
Anisimova went up a break in the very first game of the second set only to drop her serve in the very next game, went 4-2 up but was broken in the 10th and then finally earned a break in the 11th game to clinch the set.
The decider went Anisimova’s way again to begin with when she broke to go 2-1 up but Kostyuk kept fighting and breaking back. It was in the fifth game where Anisimova broke Kostyuk one last time and then nervously kept holding on to her serve to complete the win.
A finalist at the Canadian Open last year, this was the first time since that tournament that Anisimova had won three matches in a row. Can she now make it four in four?
Alexandrova v Anisimova Prediction
While Anisimova has shown great resilience in making it this far, it would be rather difficult to bet against a player of Alexandrova’s form here. Backing her to grab this and probably in two sets.
