Ons Jabeur v Peyton Stearns Head to Head
Jabeur and Stearns have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Jabeur Continues to Improve
Ons Jabeur had kick-started the 2025 season ranked 42nd on the WTA charts. Less than a month and a half later she has shown enough consistency to move to 33rd according to the live WTA rankings chart, which is probably where she will start in this competition.
This turnaround has been thanks to her performances in each one of the five tournaments that Jabeur has featured in this season.
At one end of the spectrum has been her worst showing for 2025 which was still a second round appearance at the Adelaide International where she lost to the in-form Yulia Putintseva.
To go with that, however, Jabeur has won three rounds in a tournament on two separate occasions. She did that in Brisbane before Mirra Andreeva cut her stay in the competition short.
And Jabeur repeated that in Doha last week, beating Qinwen Zheng and Sofia Kenin before falling to the eventual finalist Jelena Ostapenko.

Stearns 3-5 for the Season
Peyton Stearns broke into the top 50 of the WTA Rankings last year but hasn’t been able to motor up too much after that. And her performances in the early part of this season have been an indicator of the problem.
One would have expected Stearns to do a lot more than she has so far in 2025, winning a mere main draw matches in the five tournaments she has played.
This includes opening round wins at Brisbane, Cluj-Napoca and then in the last week in Doha where she surprised Dayana Yastremska in her first match.
The issue has been her inability to stitch together too much more than that, having also lost in the second round at all those three matches. She belongs to top leagues now and matches against the likes of Daria Kasatkina (in Brisbane), Paula Badosa (in Adelaide), Elena Rybakina (in Doha) and Jabeur here, will become a norm.
Stearns needs to find a way to get past these top players at some point.
Jabeur v Stearns Prediction
While Stearns cannot be taken lightly, on current form we need to go with Jabeur to win this. Might see a fight at some point from the American though.
Jabeur v Stearns Tips
- Jabeur to win: 11/20
