The Bad Homburg Open is a women’s tournament played under the WTA 500 at the moment, having earlier been a part of the WTA 250 series till 2023.

It was first supposed to be held in 2020 but as we all know, the pandemic changed a lot of things in the world including the starting season of the Bad Homburg Open. It eventually was hosted for the first time in 2021 and since then has been played every year.

With the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club making an investment into this tournament, it also had former Grand Slam winner Angelique Kerber becoming a part of the investment group and later, the tournament ambassador.

Kerber would go on to win the first ever title as well.

Daily WTA Bad Homburg 2025 Predictions

Predictions and tips for the Bad Homburg Open 2025 will be updated on a daily basis below during the tournament. Here’s how the predictions for the previous edition went.

WTA Bad Homburg 2025 Tournament Preview

We will update the preview to the 2025 Bad Homburg Open in the lead-up to the tournament. Below is our preview to the 2024 edition.

The big question in this year’s Bad Homburg Open is if Maria Sakkari can find her form, something that seems to have deserted the top seed. Having lost three in a row coming into this tournament, Sakkari will be hoping to get some wins under her belt going into Wimbledon that will start from the following week.

Liudmilla Samsonova starts off a favourite instead, having won the tournament at Rosmalen with Katerina Siniakova starting off 14/1 to clinch it as a dark horse.

Why Siniakova? Because she is the defending champion here and has been a runner-up once before as well. Some of the other top favourites can be seen in the pre-tournament title odds section below.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the WTA Bad Homburg?

In what turned out to be a shock result, Russia’s Diana Shnaider overcame Donna Vekic in a battle of the unseeded players in the final to win the title.

Having won the first ever WTA tournament of her career in Hua Hin earlier in the season, Shnaider defied odds to make it the second tournament victory of the season when she beat Vekic 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 in the title-decider.

Shnaider began her journey with an upset win over Angelique Kerber in the first round, crushed Dayana Yastremska in the second and then overcame another favourite Paula Badosa in the last eight stage.

In the semifinals, Shnaider needed three sets to edge past the third seeded Emma Navarro while Vekic eased past Viktoriya Tomova.

What Happened in the 2023 Edition of the WTA Bad Homburg?

Katerina Siniakova, who had come into the tournament as an unseeded player, went on to lift the trophy by beating Lucia Bronzetti in the final. She grabbed the victory 6-2, 7-6 (5).

This was after the top seeded and world number one Iga Swiatek opted to withdraw from the tournament before her semifinal match against Bronzetti. In the other semifinal, Siniakova eased past Emma Navarro 6-2, 6-2.

Defending champion Caroline Garcia opted to play in the other tournament played in the same week, at Eastbourne, while the 2021 winner Angelique Kerber was on her maternity leave.
