Felix Auger-Aliassime v Hamad Medjedovic Head to Head
Auger-Aliassime and Medjedovic have never faced off before this.
Auger-Aliassime Involved in a Three-Set Thriller v Halys
Felix Auger-Aliassime had come into the Rotterdam Open two weeks ago on the back of two title wins and lost in the very first round to Andrea Vavassori. It was a shock loss but when you are playing day in day out, you end up having a few of these bad days.
Which is why Auger-Aliassime was expected to bounce back quickly when he took to court here for his opener.
What transpired was a near-loss with Auger-Aliassime forced to be on court for two hours and 35 minutes, needing a third set tie-breaker in the end.
Auger-Aliassime dropped the first set, came back to win the second with a break of serve but failed to deliver the same in the decider. It meant he was forced into a tie-breaker and the Canadian found a way to get past his opponent.
Things could get a lot tougher for Auger-Aliassime against his in-form opponent here.

Medjedovic Continues His Stunning Journey
Stefanos Tsitsipas might not be in the best of form all season but Hamad Medjedovic was coming into this encounter having played all of the previous week (in Marseille), travelled across to a new country and taken to court for his opening match with just a day off.
But Medjedovic added bow to his string when he not only shocked another top 10 player but he did it in a match that lasted two hours and 45 minutes.
He needed three sets, of which two were tie-breakers and won 7-6 (6), 5-7, 7-6 (5) to claim his place in the second round. Medjedovic, however, also ended up injuring what looked like his groin area during the final set and it will remain to be see if he can get fit in time for the second round.
This will now be Medjedovic’s seventh match in 10 days and having featured in that late-night encounter with Tsitsipas, recovery is only going to get worse for the Serb.
Can he shrug off his injury and exhaustion, turn up and deliver the goods?
Auger-Aliassime v Medjedovic Prediction
This is an encounter between two in-form players even though Auger-Aliassime has had a couple of shaky results. Interestingly enough, Medjedovic is still a distant 3/1 for this one which we think is down to his fitness having stretched rather uncomfortably during the previous encounter.
Auger-Aliassime v Medjedovic Tips
- Auger-Aliassime to win in straight sets: 4/5
