Iga Swiatek v Mirra Andreeva Head to Head
These two have played just once before, a match which came in the 2024 Cincinnati Open in which Swiatek won in three sets.
Swiatek Pushed But Eases Past Yastremska
Iga Swiatek would have known the way things have gone in the rest of the tournament with the third, fourth, fifth and seventh seeded players having already gotten knocked out of the competition before making the quarterfinals.
And that gives her a good chance to continue her march towards the title-decider.
For a moment in the third round, it looked like Dayana Yastremska would make Swiatek’s life very difficult but the world number two came through with some ease towards the end.
Swiatek always looked to be in control but somehow wasn’t able to deliver the sucker punch – she was up a break at 4-2, was broken back, then went up 5-3, only to lose her serve again and then at 5-4, she had a couple of set-points on Yastremska’s serve which she missed.
From there on though, Swiatek did not miss anything, winning eight games in a row to complete a 7-5, 6-0 victory.

Andreeva Blows Stearns Away
An hour and 13 minutes is all that Mirra Andreeva needed in order to come through her third round match against Peyton Stearns.
Andreeva, who had played and defeated Marketa Vondrousova in the previous round on the same day because of a rain-affected Tuesday, did not waste too much time in getting past her American opponent.
Three breaks of serves in the first set finished things off in 39 minutes and a further three in the second set meant that Andreeva had completed a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
Having gotten knocked out of this tournament in the first round last season, Andreeva has now won three matches in a row in three of the four competitions she has featured in this season.
Can she upset Swiatek to make her first four-in-a-row of the year?
Swiatek v Andreeva Prediction
Swiatek has looked in murderous form in this competition much like she has in most other tournaments this year before she has lost one. We think Swiatek will still come through but Andreeva could put up a fight enough to take her to the third set.
Swiatek v Andreeva Tips
- Swiatek to win in three sets: 7/2
