Elena Rybakina v Mirra Andreeva Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two players and Rybakina had won that at the 2023 China Open.
Andreeva Shocks Swiatek
17-year-old Mirra Andreeva stunned the world number two Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals and she did it in fine style to make it to her maiden WTA 1000 semifinal.
Having overcome Aryna Sabalenka last year at the French Open, Andreeva added to her list of big-ticket scalps when she defeated Swiatek 6-3, 6-3 in a match lasting an hour and 36 minutes.
Aided by an unforced errors-riddle game from Swiatek, Andreeva took full advantage by breaking her opponent early in the match and repeating the dose to close out the set.
In the second, Andreeva dropped her serve in the third game and was 1-3 down at one stage but came back to round off five games in a row from that point onward.
This was Andreeva’s fourth successive straight-set win in the tournament having earlier overcome Elina Avanesyan, Marketa Vondrousova and Peyton Stearns to reach the last eight stage.
Can she now make it to her third WTA final and the first in a WTA 1000 event?

Rybakina Comes Through against Kenin
Elena Rybakina was on court for less than an hour and a half in her straight-set win against Sofia Kenin which took her to her first WTA 1000 semifinals since the Madrid Open last year.
This was also her first semifinal at this event in her career.
And it came with relative ease, defeating Kenin 6-2, 7-6 (2) thanks to a stunning display of serving. Rybakina hammered 17 aces, winning 77% of her first serve points and breaking her opponent three times in the encounter.
This followed victories over Moyuka Uchijima and Paula Badosa in the previous two rounds, making it three wins in a row in a competition for the first time since the Australian Open.
Can she now, for the first time this season, make it four in four?
Rybakina v Andreeva Prediction
Rybakina’s experience at this level makes her a favourite and given the way she has grown, not just in this tournament but also in the season, we think she has a very good chance to go through.
