Also called the Swiss Open Gstaad or the ATP Gstaad as a name after its hosting city, the Swiss Open is an ATP 250 tournament played on outdoor clay.
First played in 1897 as the Swiss International Championships in Zurich, this tournament underwent multiple changes before settling in on its current avatar hosted in Gstaad. Some of its other venues included Basel, Geneva, Lausanne, St. Moritz and Zurich.
In 1990, this tournament was included on the ATP Tour and since then has been played under the ATP 250 banner.
Sergi Bruguera, Roger Federer, Dominic Thiem, Matteo Berrettini and Casper Ruud are some of the previous winners of the Swiss Open.

ATP Swiss Open 2025 Details
Here’s a list of basic information you would need to know before betting on the ATP Gstaad Open 2025.
Venue
The Roy Emerson Arena in Gstaad in Switzerland hosts the Swiss Open every year. About 4500 tennis fans can be accommodated at any given time in this arena. The venue is named after former Grand Slam winner and Aussie tennis star Roy Emerson, who also won this tournament five times and played his last match here.
Schedule
The Swiss Open will continue to be played post Wimbledon and will be one of the first three tournaments on clay following the grass swing. The tournament begins with its qualifying rounds in the lead-up to its main draw which will kick-start on Monday, July 14.
It will end with its singles and doubles finals on Sunday, July 20.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the ATP Swiss Open?
Sixth seeded Matteo Berrettini captured the 2024 edition of the Swiss Open when he overcame Quentin Halys in the final. Berrettini, who was looking to slowly get back to his winning ways following a time out because of fitness and form concerns, won the final 6-3, 6-1.
In doing so, Berrettini had won his ninth tournament on the ATP circuit.
Berrettini made the final after overcoming the defending champion Pedro Cachin in the first round, before he defeated Daniel Elahi Galan, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Stefanos Tsitsipas in the following round.
Tsitsipas, who was the top seed and a favourite coming into the competition, went down 7-6 (6), 7-5 to Berrettini in a tough semifinal.
What Happened in the 2023 Edition of the ATP Swiss Open?
With defending champion Casper Ruud opting out of the tournament and participating in the Bastad Open in 2023, this year’s competition did not see any of the top 10 players make it to the main draw.
It gave a sense of an open competition as a result of that and in what turned out to be a surprise result, Argentina’s Pedro Cachin etched his name on the ATP tournament victory list with his maiden title win here.
Cachin overcame a first set deficit to defeat the 2019 champion Albert Ramos Vinolas in the final, beating him 3-6, 6-0, 7-5 to win the tournament.
Roberto Bautista-Agut, who was the top seed was sent packing in the very second round by Cachin following an opening round bye. Ramos Vinolas surprised second seeded Miomir Kecmanovic in one of the semifinals.
