Daily tennis betting tips, odds and predictions

Get all the free men’s and women’s Wimbledon betting tips, predictions and picks along with their latest odds for the 2024 edition of the tournament which will be held in July this year.

One of the four Grand Slams and the only tournament outside of the WTA/ATP 500 series of competitions to be played on grass, Wimbledon occupies the pride of place among tennis players at every level.

And that is to do with the longevity, prestige and the royalty associated with Wimbledon.

Also called The Championships or Wimbledon Championships, this tournament is the third major of the season after Australian Open and French Open, and is typically played towards the end of June and the first two weeks of July.

It is the oldest tennis tournament in the world having begun in 1877. It has been played every year since then other than the World War years and in 2020 when the pandemic hit the world.

128 players compete in the men’s and women’s singles draw apiece but that’s not where the tournament ends. Some of the other events include:

  • Men’s & Women’s Doubles
  • Mixed Doubles
  • Wheelchair’s Quad, Men’s and Women’s Singles
  • Wheelchair Quad, Men’s & Women’s Doubles
  • Boys’ & Girls’ Singles & Doubles
  • Boys’ & Girls’ Under-14 Singles
  • Invitational Men’s, Women’s & Mixed Doubles

Roger Federer has won the men’s singles title eight times while Martina Navratilova has won the women’s singles tournament on nine occasions, making them the record-holders for most titles won. Navratilova also won seven women’s and four mixed doubles titles in her career here.

Wimbledon 2024 Tournament Preview

Things could interesting in the men’s draw with Novak Djokovic expected to announce his fitness situation very soon and Carlos Alcaraz expected to come out all guns blazing after winning the French Open title earlier this year.

However, with Jannik Sinner showing what he is capable of and the likes of Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev always there to challenge some of these players, it could open up the draw a little.

The women’s draw will have Iga Swiatek starting out as a favourite but grass isn’t her best surface. Nor is it Aryna Sabalenka’s.

Which is why we have already seen six different winners over the last six years. This includes Elena Rybakina in 2022 and Marketa Vondrousova last year with Ons Jabeur making the final both times.

There could be a bit of the same this year too with all of these aforementioned women along with Cori Gauff and Jessica Pegula having a chance to make it through.

Wimbledon 2024 Tournament Predictions

  • Jannik Sinner has shown all season what he is capable of but can he convert that form into grass court wins? We think he will make the semifinal and face Carlos Alcaraz with the winner also going on to win the men’s singles title.
  • Although Iga Swiatek hasn’t done as well on grass as one other surfaces, this could be her year to win her maiden Wimbledon title.
  • Novak Djokovic has declared himself fit enough to feature in the tournament and we think he will be good to make the second week. Beyond that, it will depend on how his fitness responds to the grind.
  • Cori Gauff could be one of the players who challenges Swiatek with Aryna Sabalenka (form) and Elena Rybakina (fitness) facing their own problems.

What Happened in the 2023 Edition of Wimbledon?

In the men’s singles draw, Carlos Alcaraz emerged as the surprise winner, shocking the seven-time champion Novak Djokovic in the final. Alcaraz needed five sets but put up a strong display to overcome the world number two and pre-tournament favourite.

Alcaraz won 1-6, 7-6 (6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to triumph in a match that lasted four hours and 42 minutes.

Djokovic, who had won four titles at Wimbledon in a row since his epic final showdown against Roger Federer in 2019, dropped a set apiece to Hubert Hurkacz and Andrey Rublev in the fourth round and quarterfinals before crushing Jannik Sinner in the semifinal.

On the other hand, Alcaraz was taken to the fourth set by Nicolas Jarry in the third round and then against the former Wimbledon runner-up Matteo Berrettini in the fourth. He eased past Holger Rune and Daniil Medvedev in his next two rounds to enter the final.

The women’s singles competition proved to be an even bigger surprise when Marketa Vondrousova made it two times unlucky for Ons Jabeur in the final. Vondrousova, who had entered the tournament as an unseeded player, became the first to win this title like that.

Vondrousova eased past Jabeur 6-4, 6-4 after having needed three sets against Marie Bouzkova in the fourth round, and another three in her quarterfinal match against Jessica Pegula.

World number one Iga Swiatek lost to Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinal while Jabeur defeated the world number two Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinal.
