Get all the free ATP Rio betting tips, predictions and picks along with their latest odds for the 2025 edition of the tournament which will be held in the second week of February.

Played as the only ATP 500 event in South America, the Rio Open is an outdoor clay court competition that has been held in Brazil since 2014.

Other than in 2021 when it wasn’t hosted due to the pandemic it has been played every year on clay despite there being talks of a change in surface to be able to attract some of the top players in the world.

Rafael Nadal was the first ever winner of this tournament and in more recent times, Carlos Alcaraz has also lifted the trophy once.

Incidentally, no player between 2014 and 2024 has won the title more than once at the Rio Open.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the ATP Rio?

After the top seeded and 2022 winner Carlos Alcaraz was forced to retire from his opening round match, the draw was open for anyone to grab the title.

Defending champion Cameron Norrie had a good chance as he marched into the semifinal but was shocked by Mariano Navone at that stage, who went on to play Sebastian Baez in the final.

It was Baez who won the title though, defeating Navone 6-2, 6-1 in the final.

Baez, who started off as the fifth seed, eased past Corentin Moutet in the first round and then overcame the fighting challenge of Facundo Diaz Acosta in the second.

Thiago Monteiro took him to three sets in the the quarterfinals before Baez ended Francisco Cerundolo’s run in the semis.
