ATP Stuttgart Open betting tips and predictions

Get all the free ATP Stuttgart Open betting tips, predictions and picks along with their latest odds for the 2025 edition of the tournament which will be held in the week following the French Open this year.

Called the Mercedes Open at one point earlier, the ATP Stuttgart Open or the BOSS Open as it’s also called now, is a part of the ATP 250 series of tennis events.

Till 2014, the Stuttgart Open was played on clay before it was switched over to outdoor grass courts the following season.

What’s interesting to note is that the Stuttgart Open men’s competition has been around since 1914, and is one of those tournaments which awards its winner a Mercedes-Benz car as a part of their sponsorship deal.

Other than in 1970 and 2020 when majority of the tennis tournaments were cancelled, the Stuttgart Open has been held each year since 1949. Among those who have won the title, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Dominic Thiem are some of the prominent names.

28 singles players and 16 doubles teams will take part in the main draw of this competition.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the Stuttgart Open?

After the withdrawal of Alexander Zverev, the top seed, from the tournament having made the final of the French Open the previous week, the onus was on the lesser known players to make it through to the latter stages.

It was the sixth seeded and Britain’s Jack Draper who took advantage of Zverev’s absence as he edged out Matteo Berrettini in a pulsating final to win the title.

Having become the British number one, Draper came back from a set down to win 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 in the final of the Boss Open in Stuttgart to grab his maiden tournament win of his career.

This was after defending champion Frances Tiafoe was knocked out in the quarterfinal, also by Draper.

What Happened in the 2023 Edition of the Stuttgart Open?

In what turned out to be an absolutely gripping final, Frances Tiafoe saved a match-point on his way to winning the title.

It was local lad Jan-Lennard Struff who stretched Tiafoe to a final set tie-breaker and even had a chance to win the encounter before Tiafoe snuck ahead, grabbing the title 4-6, 7-6 (1), 7-6 (8).

This was after Tiafoe had overcome Marton Fucsovics in another pulsating semifinal, with their second set tie-breaker going to 24 points. Struff stunned Hubert Hurkacz in the other semi.

Top seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas bowed out of the competition in the second round following a first round bye.
