French Open 2024 Betting: Alcaraz Continues to Remain Heavy Favourite at 5/2

Djokovic 4/1 to win the 2024 French Open title

Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner exhibited sterling performances in their opening round wins to raise hopes of a delicious, photo-finish at the 2024 French Open. However, Alcaraz continues to remain a heavy favourite with the other two just behind.

Alcaraz, who had begun the tournament at 11/4 to win it has already seen those odds slashed slightly after his rollicking first round victory over JJ Wolf.

Wolf, who was once ranked 39th in the world, managed to win just four games in his rout at the hands of his Spanish opponent which meant that Alcaraz is now 5/2 odds (check latest French Open betting information here) to grab this title .

Djokovic and Sinner did not have it too difficult either but there was some rustiness visible in both their wins, unlike Alcaraz who screamed past his opponent.

The Serb, who was 13/4 to clinch this year’s French Open at the start of the tournament, has seen his odds lengthen to 4/1 despite a straight-set win over local Pierre-Hugues Herbert.

On the other hand, Sinner’s 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 win over Christopher Eubanks would have done enough to shake off the potential injury worries he might have had but even he is at an outright odds of 4/1 at the moment.

Neither player has too much to worry for now though with their second round opponents not the kind of pedigree you would expect them to be challenged by.

Alcaraz will be up against Jesper de Jong, who stunned Jack Draper in the opener and has never been in the top 100 in his career. Sinner faces French veteran Richard Gasquet who might put up some fight in front of his home crowd but could be easily out-gunned while Djokovic takes on Roberto Carballes Baena, a journeyman who has been around for over 15 years but never made past the third round of any Grand Slam.

Alcaraz and Sinner will be action Wednesday while Djokovic will be on court on Thursday for their second round matches. Here’re the match by match French Open predictions for today’s play.
