Cristian Knocks Out Bronzetti
Much like Lys, Jaqueline Cristian had never made it as far as the third round in a major – a sole second round appearance having come at the 2023 Wimbledon for Cristian.
So when she took to court against Lucia Bronzetti, Cristian would have known she had a great chance of achieving a personal first.
That’s exactly what she did, winning a two hour, four minutes long contest, 7-5, 7-5.
Cristian lost her serve three times but managed to get past Bronzetti’s on five occasions, two of which came at crucial times in the set – when her opponent was serving to stay in the contest.
