Ordinarily, an 8-5 win-loss record for the season might look okay, even for a top-10 player who has had a couple of deep runs and a few early exits.

Bu Has No Troubles against Basavareddy
Yunchaokete Bu was a distant second favourite heading into his opener against Nishesh Basavareddy and that had been thanks to his struggles all season.
The Chinese player had won just three of the 11 matches he had played and lost six first round matches in the season till before this match against Basavareddy.
Which is why, his hour and 43 minute long encounter, that earned him a 7-5, 6-4 win over Basavareddy would be such a relief.
Bu led 2-0 in the first set and had a chance to serve it out at 5-4 before doing that at 6-5. In the second set, the script worked out in a similar fashion with Bu breaking in the very first game and then serving at 5-4 – with the difference being this time he managed to finish things off.
