Alejandro Tabilo v Dusan Lajovic Preview
Head-to-Head: They have faced off once before and that came in the 2024 Argentina Open where Lajovic clinched a three-set win.
Alejandro Tabilo entered this tournament as a seeded player but the manner in which he has gone about his business this season, it won’t be long before he drops out of the top 32 players in the world.
What that would mean is that Tabilo won’t remain seeded in this bigger events, the Masters 1000 and Grand Slam tournaments, and that would run him a risk of being drawn against the top players in the very first round.
Why do we say this could turn out to be case? Well that’s down to how Tabilo has done this season – playing three matches in hardcourt competitions and three others on clay and losing all six.
He now takes on Dusan Lajovic who is a clay-court specialist but is coming off a pounding win over Li Tu. Lajovic, who had himself won just two matches all season before this tournament, sealed off his second round berth with a crushing 6-2, 6-0 win over Tu.
Lajovic might not have done well in hardcourt competitions in the past, having won just three matches here since 2017 but he would have a decent shot at winning this.
Tabilo v Lajovic prediction: Lajovic to win: 11/10

Denis Shapovalov v Adam Walton Preview
Head-to-Head: Shapovalov and Walton have neve faced off before this.
Denis Shapovalov looked to have had a typical start to the season, having won a couple of rounds in total from the first three tournaments he featured in.
Once ranked 10th in the world, Shapovalov had started the 2024 season outside the top 100 and while he did well to come back into reckoning last year he was still ranked 56th in the world at the start of 2025.
Those two wins from three tournaments did not help matters which is why what’s followed has been nothing short of remarkable.
Shapovalov, who had made the fourth round of this tournament in 2019, came back strongly to win the title at the Dallas Open with wins over Taylor Fritz, Tomas Machac, Tommy Paul and Casper Ruud and then entered the semifinal of the Mexican Open.
As a result he has climbed up to 28th in the world and will now start a heavy favourite against Aussie qualifier Adam Walton in this match.
Walton, who had gotten past Constant Lestienne and Michael Mmoh in the qualifiers, eased past Giulio Zeppieri in his opener to clinch his first tour level main draw win of the season. Can he now test Shapovalov?
Shapovalov v Walton prediction: Shapovalov to win in straight sets: 10/11
