Auger-Aliassime Building Towards a 2022-Like Season
Felix Auger-Aliassime had been long tipped to make things happen on the tennis court but it was only in 2022 that he finally went on a roll, winning four titles in a single calendar year.
He added one more in 2023 but a rather barren 2024 season meant that he ended the previous year ranked 29th in the world.
This year, Auger-Aliassime’s lost mojo looks to be back and in a short span of around two month, the Canadian has already won two titles and made the final of a third tournament.
Auger-Aliassime started off with a tournament victory at Adelaide and then clinched another title in Montpellier before making the final in Dubai. It took the might of Stefanos Tsitsipas to defeat him there.
He will now be looking to improve upon his showing from the previous season in this tournament when he made the third round.

Brooksby in a Comeback Win over Bonzi
Jenson Brooksby has had his share of issues in the past with a wrist injury and a suspension from ITIA after he missed out on a few doping tests.
While he was supposed to return to competitive tennis last year, fitness issues pushed him out of contention and it has only been earlier this year that he returned to competitive tennis, featuring at the Australian Open for starters.
While Brooksby had won just one match this season coming into his opener against Benjamin Bonzi – and at the Challenger level at that – he played like he was rolling back the time.
After losing the first set 6-1, Brooksby stood firm in the next two and won them 7-5, 7-5. In the decider, he down a break at 4-3 but came back to level things out and then saved five break-points in the 11th game.
Things will get drastically tougher for Brooksby here but he has the game to put up a fight.
