Carlos Alcaraz v Quentin Halys Head to Head
Alcaraz and Halys have never faced off before this.
Alcaraz Begins Hat-trick Campaign
Carlos Alcaraz won the Indian Wells Masters in 2023 and 2024 and will enter this encounter knowing there is a third one waiting.
In terms of competition, the tournament is without Jannik Sinner who has been suspended for three months and with Alexander Zverev also knocked out of the competition in the second round, Alcaraz knows there’s not much left in the fray other than Novak Djokovic.
Which is why, with a 11-2 win-loss record under his belt for the season, Alcaraz will look to make quick work of his early opponents.
The Rotterdam Open winner started off his campaign with a first round bye and now takes on a player who had never won a round in this competition before this year.

Halys Eases Past Carreno-Busta
Quentin Halys is 28 years old but has flown into Indian Wells for this tournament just twice in his career.
The first time he did that was in 2023 where he was dumped out in the first round. Halys then failed to even qualify for the tournament in 2024.
This time around he had a direct entry into the main draw having come into the tournament ranked 59th in the world but started out a 7/5 underdog against Pablo Carreno-Busta in his opener.
An hour and 20 minutes later, Halys had managed to overturn those odds with a 6-3, 6-4 win, slamming nine aces and breaking his opponent four times.
Halys had also come into this contest on the back of a semifinal appearance at the ATP Dubai which would have given him some confidence but would that be enough against Alcaraz?
Alcaraz v Halys Predictions
There shouldn’t be too many worries for the Spaniard with a straight-set win very much on the cards.
