Lorenzo Musetti v Arthur Fils Head to Head

Musetti Struggles against Safiullin
Roman Safiullin had come into his second round match against Lorenzo Musetti with a shock win over Reilly Opelka and had been playing well enough to be 10/11 to clinch a victory.
Musetti, at world number 16, might have been ranked more than 50 places ahead of Safiullin but hadn’t played a lot of tennis this year and just five matches before this in hardcourt competitions.
That difference showed up in the first two sets of their match, with the two players sharing four breaks of serves equally to enter the third set at 7-5, 5-7.
Even in the final set, Safiullin was up a break twice, at 1-0 and then at 2-1 but lost his serve in the very next game before Musetti finally put his foot to the pedal and clinched it 6-2.

Fils Crushes Diallo
It took Arthur Fils a mere 68 minutes to carve out a 6-2, 6-2 win over Canada’s Gabriel Diallo in his second round match, sealing off his place in the round of 32 for the second season in a row at Indian Wells Masters.
Having begun as an overwhelming favourite, Fils got the better of Diallo’s serve on five occasions even as he lost his serve just once off the only break-point he faced.
This win stalled Fils’ two-match losing streak and earned him his sixth win of the season – he has also lost four matches in all.
Fils has had a bit of a start-stop season so far with only a third round appearance at the Australian Open to show for his effort. Another win here will go a long way in helping him regain some of the confidence that had seen him two ATP titles last year – at Hamburg and Tokyo.
