Iga Swiatek v Karolina Muchova Head to Head
Swiatek leads Muchova 3-1 on head to head with their only hardcourt encounter having come at the United Cup earlier this year. Swiatek had won that in straight sets. Muchova’s only win over Swiatek had come in 2019 on the clay courts of the Prague Open.
Swiatek Blows Yastremska Away
Defending champion Iga Swiatek is looking to make it her third title at this competition and she didn’t have to break into much of a sweat as she got closer to that with an easy win over Dayana Yastremska.
The world number two registered a 6-0, 6-2 win to make it to the fourth round.
Having earned an opening round bye and then crushed Caroline Garcia by a similar scoreline, Swiatek earned 11 break-points in the encounter and broke her opponent six times.
She converted five of her 11 break chances but in return faced no break-point of her own. In fact she led 6-0, 4-0 at one stage before Yastremska managed to hold her serve on successive occasions.
Swiatek will now hope to keep her running run against Muchova going as they face off in the fourth round.

Muchova Fights Past Siniakova
In an all-Czech battle Karolina Muchova came back from a slow start to defeat Katerina Siniakova in their third round match.
Down 3-5 in the first set, Muchova ran amok in the next 11 games as she won 10 of them to seal off a 7-5, 6-1 victory.
Muchova, whose only previous appearance at this tournament had come in the 2023 edition – where she made the quarterfinals – had earlier eased past Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the second round.
She now faces a huge challenge, especially on a surface which is slightly slower in nature and hence, could suit her opponent even more.
Can Muchova make things slightly difficult for the world number two?
