It took Aryna Sabalenka all of an hour and 15 minutes to advance to the fourth round of the Indian Wells Open as she eased past Lucia Bronzetti.
A quick two breaks in the first set was all that Sabalenka needed to grab the lead and while Bronzetti put up some fight with an early break in the second, that was where the spark extinguished.
Sabalenka retaliated with three breaks of serves in return before serving it out to win 6-1, 6-2.
This follows a straight-set win over McCartney Kessler in the second round having entered the tournament on the back of underwhelming performances in the Middle East.
She had lost in the second round at Doha and won a match before going down in the third in Dubai.

Kartal Continues Golden Run with Polina Win
Drafted into the main draw of this competition as a lucky loser following the withdrawal of Sloane Stephens, Sonay Kartal was almost sure she wouldn’t be going as far as the fourth round.
How do we know, you ask? Well she had checked out of her hotel before her second round match against Beatriz Haddad Maia according to reports and once she had stunned her Brazilian opponent in straight sets, she was left with the dual task of prepping for the next round and finding a new stay.
If Polina Kudermetova would have hoped that that scramble to find a hotel might have affected Kartal in any way before their third round encounter, she was wide off target.
Because Kartal wasted little time in getting herself a 7-5, 6-3 victory and gaining the biggest pay-cheque of her career – not to mention a jump to 63rd in the world in the live rankings.
