Shelton Eases Past Nakashima
Ben Shelton had made the second round in this tournament on his debut in 2023. He bettered that by reaching the fourth round last year.
This year, Shelton has done one better than that too, making it past Brandon Nakashima to make it to the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells Masters.
While Shelton did face some difficulties in the first set of his fourth round match against Nakashima, losing his serve and facing three other break-points, he came back well to win the match in an hour and 34 minutes.
The first set went into a tie-breaker before Shelton broke his opponent twice in the second to complete the victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Shelton had beaten Mariano Navone and Karen Khachanov in straight sets as well.

Draper Sends Fritz Packing
It was expected to be close match with Jack Draper a slight favourite but in the end, the Briton grabbed a straight-set win over Taylor Fritz in their fourth round encounter.
Draper, who was 9-2 on win-loss for the season coming into this match, shrugged off some strong serving from Fritz to break him three times in a row.
The first of those breaks helped him win the opening set while he took a 4-0 lead in the second set with the remaining two.
Fritz pulled one of those back as Draper served for the match at 5-3 but couldn’t do much to stop his British opponent from serving it out the second time, winning 7-5, 6-4.
Having made the fourth round at the Australian Open and the finals in Doha in the only two tournaments that Draper has played this season, he will be looking to notch up another victory to move up a spot in the rankings.
