Aryna Sabalenka v Mirra Andreeva Head to Head
There have been five previous meetings between these two players and Sabalenka leads 4-1. Two of these matches have come in 2025 itself and Sabalenka has won both times – at Brisbane and Australian Open.
Sabalenka in a Shock Rout of Keys
Aryna Sabalenka was probably still reeling from her Australian Open loss at the hands of Madison Keys. And that translated into the kind of ruthlessness that hadn’t been on display in the tournament before.
And in a mere 51 minutes, Sabalenka dropped just one game in her semifinal against Keys to march into the title-decider.
She won 6-0, 6-1 which meant that in the 20 matches Sabalenka has played all of the season, this was the least number of games she had lost in a match.
It’s been the kind of tournament that Sabalenka would have liked after her inability to win at the season’s first Grand Slam and early losses in Doha and Dubai.
Can she now finish it off on a high to win her maiden title at Indian Wells?

Andreeva in a Three-Set Tussle with Swiatek
Kim Clijsters was just 17 when she reached the Indian Wells Open final in 2001. 24 years on, another 17-year-old entered the title-decider.
It was Mirra Andreeva this time who became the youngest in 24 years to do so as she carved out a hard-fought 7-6 (1), 1-6, 6-3 win over two-time winner Iga Swiatek in the semifinals.
Following a difficult opening set that went into a tie-breaker, Andreeva clinched the set thanks to a Swiatek error that helped her close it at 7-1.
As easy as the tie-breaker was for Andreeva, she was squarely broken and beaten in the second as she saw the world number two run away with the second set.
An early break in the third set swung the momentum back in Andreeva’s favour and she went on to grab her 11th win in a row this season.
She had earlier won straight-set matches against Clara Tauson, Elena Rybakina and Elina Svitolina as well.
Sabalenka v Andreeva Predictions
Sabalenka will kick-start this one as a favourite given her hold over Andreeva and we expect her to clinch this in straight sets.
