The 2025 Bogota Open quarterfinals will be played on Friday, April 4 with Camila Osorio, Marie Bouzkova and Lea Boskovic taking to court today. Get the best predictions and tips for the day from WTA Bogota Open 2025.
Camila Osorio v Tatjana Maria
World number 54 Camila Osorio will take on the 82nd-ranked Tatjana Maria in the quarterfinal, in what will be their third meeting at this level. Both their previous matches came in 2024 with Maria winning in three sets at the Australian Open before Osorio defeated her at this very tournament and in the quarterfinals too. That match also went the distance.
And here they are again, facing off for a place in the semifinal with Osorio having coming back from a shoddy first set against Emina Bektas to win her second round match in three sets.
Maria, on the other hand, came through against Hanna Chang in straight sets, bagelling her in the first set and then needing a tie-breaker in the second.
Overall, however, Osorio’s record on clay is a lot better than Maria who had won just four matches last season on this surface after featuring in 10 tournaments. Maria is a two-time winner in this competition but things have changed since her last title here in 2023 with the German having struggled for form.
No surprises then that we will be backing the Colombian as she hunts for her third title at this competition.
Osorio v Maria Tip: Osorio to win: 2/5
Marie Bouzkova v Katarzyna Kawa
World number 51 Marie Bouzkova will be facing the 223rd-ranked Katarzyna Kawa for the first time in her career but this isn’t the first time that she is aiming to make the semifinals in Bogota having also done that last season.
Bouzkova, who was a finalist at the 2024 Bogota Open, shrugged off a rusty start against Aleksandra Sasnovich in the first round here to crush Raluca Serban 6-1, 6-3 in the second round here.
It was the other way around for Kawa who had come through the qualifiers to make it to the main draw and routed Valentina Mediorreal Arias in the first round. In the second, however, Kawa was forced to come back from a set down to defeat Laura Pigossi in three.
Bouzkova’s performances on clay have been a tad up and down throughout her career with a semifinal appearance at the Italian Open in 2023 being her best showing but against a player ranked outside the top 200 she shouldn’t have a lot of issues.
Bouzkova v Kawa Tip: Bouzkova to win in straight sets: 1/2
Lea Boskovic v Julia Riera
In a battle between two players ranked outside the top 150, the 157th-ranked Julia Riera will start off a 3/5 favourite against the world number 225 Lea Boskovic.
While these two have never faced off at either the highest level or on clay before this, Riera had defeated Boskovic in the qualifiers of the Australian Open earlier this year. She had then gone on to make it to the main draw of that major for the first time in her career.
A wildcard entrant in this competition, Riera was leading in the third set against Francesca Jones in her opener before her opponent from the encounter. And Riera then defeated Iva Jovic in straight sets to show her mettle on this surface.
Boskovic has come through the qualifiers and then defeated two pre-match favourites in the main draw – Irina Bara, who was 8/11 to win this and Cristina Bucsa who started off 3/10 against her Croatian opponent.
And both times, Boskovic won in straight sets. Can she shrug off 7/5 odds against her here?
Boskovic v Riera Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/5
