The 2025 Bogota Open semifinals will be played on Saturday, April 5 with Camila Osorio leading the action for the day. Get the best predictions and tips for the day from WTA Bogota Open 2025.
Camila Osorio v Julia Riera
Camila Osorio will know this is a great chance for her to make it her third title at home as she takes on a 157th-ranked player in Julia Riera in her semifinal.
The 54th-ranked Osorio, who crushed Tatjana Maria 6-1, 6-3 in the quarterfinals, is a clay-court specialist having won all her singles titles at every level on this surface. And this has been on show in this tournament with Osorio winning three successive matches in a competition for the first time in 2025 here in Bogota.
She will now look to make it four in four when she faces Argentina’s Riera who herself loves her time on clay. Riera had made her WTA debut in 2023 in Rabat and on that red dirt, Riera had made it to the semifinal too.
While her form has been anything but consistent since then, a semifinal appearance in an ITF tournament last week would have given her some direction. Osorio, however holds the advantage and unless she falters drastically, should come through in straight sets.
Osorio v Riera Tip: Osorio to win in straight sets: 4/5
Katarzyna Kawa v Julieta Pareja
Not too many would have imagined a WTA 250 semifinal between two players ranked 223rd and 550th in the world. That’s where we are at when Katarzyna Kawa takes on Julieta Pareja for a place in the final.
Even more interestingly, the 16-year-old Pareja is a favourite coming into the encounter with bookmakers offering 8/11 for her win.
Pareja began her professional career at the highest level earlier this year at the Indian Wells Open where she lost in the qualifiers. In her second tournament here in Bogota, Pareja has already come through the qualifiers before winning three in a row in straight sets to enter the semifinals.
Against Patricia Tig and Leolia Jeanjean, Pareja was a second favourite too but overturned her opponents rather easily.
Kawa cannot be discounted though. She is coming off a comeback-from-behind, three-set win over the top seeded Marie Bouzkova despite starting out a 7/2 underdog. Earlier she had also won a couple of qualifiers to make the main draw and beat Laura Pigossi in the quarterfinal.
We could see a tight match here and while we think Pareja’s youth might help her in a tournament like this, Kawa won’t be giving up the chance of making it to her first final in a WTA tournament in six years so easily.
Kawa v Pareja Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/5
