Arthur Rinderknech v Harold Mayot Head to Head
Frenchmen Rinderkech and Mayot have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Rinderknech 0-3 in 2025
When Arthur Rinderknech reached the third round at the Paris Masters last season on the back of stunning wins over Tomas Machac and Alex Michelsen, he would have been riding high on confidence.
Unfortunately for Rinderknech, he hasn’t done too much winning after that. In fact since surprising Michelsen in that second round encounter, Rinderknech has played five and lost all of them in a jiffy.
It started with a defeat to Grigor Dimitrov in Paris before Rinderknech featured in a local French competition where he lost to Pierre-Hugues Herbert in straight sets to finish off the season.
And he has begun the new year with three successive defeats in Brisbane, Adelaide and Australian Open. While losses to Yoshihito Nishioka and Christopher O’Connell in the first two of those competitions were on expected lines, Rinderknech made a fist of his opener against Frances Tiafoe before going down in five at Melbourne.
Can he take that confidence into this one to try and win his first match of the season?
Mayot with a Poor Start Too
Harold Mayot hasn’t done too well in 2025 either. He is still 22 years of age but so far, his career-best ranking hasn’t seen him break into the top 100 and that would be a concern.
More so given the manner in which he kicked things off in the year.
Mayot did make it to the quarterfinals of a Challenger competition in Canberra but was knocked out in the very first round of the Australian Open qualifiers.
He featured in another Challenger after that in Quimper but then lost to the 422nd-ranked Benoit Paire in the very first round.
What this shows is that Mayot has some way to go before he can start challenging some of the top players in the world and despite Rinderknech’s poor form he could have troubles.
Rinderknech v Mayot Prediction
Two players coming into this in underwhelming form but Rinderknech has a much better pedigree to go with that and we will have to back him to clinch a win here. Might see some fight though with a tie-breaker expected.
