Lestienne Forced to Come Through Qualifiers
Constant Lestienne had hit a career-best ranking of 48th in the world less than two years ago but his performances have been derailed since then.
A late bloomer, with a Grand Slam debut having come at the age of 30, Lestienne slide down the rankings charts can be traced to the face that he didn’t win a single Challenger title last year after having grabbed three in 2023.
Which meant that a semifinal appearance at the Noumea Challenger to kick-start his season here would have given him some respite. That was followed by a retirement in the first qualifying round at the Australian Open and a second round loss at the Quimper Challenger last week.
