Camila Osorio v Dominika Salkova Head to Head
Osorio and Salkova have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Osorio Wins Opener Again
In her third tournament of the season, Camila Osorio won the first round yet again, following on from her performances in Hobart and at the Australian Open.
After having defeated Yue Yuan and Maria Sakkari in the first round of those two tournaments, Osorio edged past Bernarda Pera in her opener here. She was on court for over two hours, however to register the victory.
It could have been a lot easier for Osorio had she managed to find a better serving day.
After having scooped up the first set with two breaks of serve, she was up a break twice in the second set only to get broken right back. And in the tie-breaker that followed, Pera ran away to a 7-0 win.
Osorio came back though, clinching a decisive break in the eighth game before serving it out. Can she now win a second round match for the first time this season?

Salkova Overcomes Andreeva
There wasn’t much to choose between Dominika Salkova and Erika Andreeva when they faced off in the opening round here. And the manner in which the first set went, it looked like we could be in for a thriller.
Salkova, who had failed to qualify for both, the Canberra ITF second round and the Australian Open main draw, was 3-0 up in the opening set but dropped her serve in the seventh game.
She saved a set-point in the 12th game before a close tie-breaker ended in her favour, 7-5.
In just the third WTA main draw of her career, Salkova broke Andreeva in the very first game of the second set before clinching the win with a second break of serve soon after that.
Can she now put one across her 55th-ranked opponent?
Osorio v Salkova Prediction
Osorio will be a favourite here and at 3/5 it looks like a tempting option to go with her but it must be quickly added here that Salkova has played a lot of indoor hardcourt matches at the lower level as compared to Osorio.
