Rebecca Sramkova v Anastasia Potapova Head to Head
Sramkova and Potapova have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Sramkova Overcomes Cocciaretto
After having made a slow start to the season, Rebecca Sramkova looks to have found some groove with her back to back opening round wins.
At the Australian Open, Sramkova had overcome Katie Volynets in a fighting three-setter before she went down to Iga Swiatek. In this competition in Linz, the Slovakian 28-year-old lived up to the favourites tag by clinching a straight-set win over Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
Starting out as an 8/11 favourite here, Sramkova lost her serve in both the sets to hand her opponent the advantage but clawed back to level the proceedings soon after.
And then at 6-5 with Cocciaretto serving to stay in the set (and match), Sramkova found a way to break her opponent’s serve and clinch it.
Can she now pull off a second successive win in a competition for the first time since making the final at the Jiangxi Open last November?

Potapova Eases Past Grabher
Julia Grabher has been struggling to get the results she wants at the highest level in recent times and that was seen both, in the pre-match odds and the way her encounter against Anastasia Potapova went.
Potapova had gone into the match as a 1/10 favourite and played like one too, defeating Grabher 6-2, 6-2 to romp into the second round.
In a match that lasted a mere 68 minutes, Potapova broke Grabher twice in each of the two sets while saving both the break-points she faced in the match.
What that meant was that Potapova has now played in three tournaments this season and won her openers at each of them. At the Australian Open she was knocked out in the second round by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova following a third round appearance at the Brisbane International before that.
She will start a favourite here with bookmakers offering 1/2 for her win.
Sramkova v Potapova Prediction
In a battle between two players who have both done well on hardcourt surfaces, Potapova holds a slight edge on account of her recent form. At 1/2 though we don’t think it’s worth the punt though and the better option could be to look at the games market.
