Felix Auger-Aliassime v Jesper de Jong Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between Auger-Aliassime and de Jong.
Auger-Aliassime Too Strong for Bu
Continuing to show the kind of sparkle he has throughout this season despite some results not going his way, Felix Auger-Aliassime booked his place in the semifinal with a straightforward win over Yunchaokete Bu.
Auger-Aliassime was on court for an hour and 24 minutes and defeated Bu 6-3, 6-4 to make it two wins in a row following an opening round bye.
Having eased past Arthur Cazaux in the second round, Auger-Aliassime did not face a single break-point in the entire match while getting the better of his opponent’s serve on two occasions – once apiece in each set.
He has a golden chance to add to his title tally count having earlier won the Adelaide International in January. Can he make it to the final here for starters?

De Jong Surprises Griekspoor
It’s been a surprise run for Jesper de Jong who had entered the tournament on the back of a 0-3 record for the season.
Not just the fact that he had lost three matches without winning any, two of those losses had also come in Challengers and the third at the qualifiers of the Australian Open.
A first round win over Quentin Halys could have been put down to his opponent suffering fitness concerns during the match and would have brought some relief. This was then followed by a shock win over Flavio Cobolli.
And the shocks continued with de Jong taking out fellow Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor from the competition, defeating him 7-6 (5), 6-4.
Not too many saw that coming but then again, much like in all his previous wins, de Jong had gone into the encounter as a distant second-favourite.
Can he repeat that dose one more time against a player who was once ranked sixth in the world?
Auger-Aliassime v de Jong Prediction
De Jong’s momentum juggernaut could be hard to stop and Auger-Aliassime will need to come out all guns blazing. Typically, in a match between a player ranked in the top 30 and another ranked outside the top 130, the better player has some more margin of error but it looks like things would be a lot closer in this one.
